Fujinomiya shares a special bond with its sister city, Santa Monica, California, fostering a deep and enduring friendship through cultural exchanges, educational programs, and collaborative events. Student Exchanges
Santa Monica and Fujinomiya have a long and fruitful history of high school and middle school exchanges. Each summer, several student ambassadors are selected to represent Santa Monica in a 2-week exchange trip to Fujinomiya. Student ambassadors are also responsible for hosting their Japanese counterpart in their home for two weeks.
